Director and founder of Social Science Works is Hans Blokland. Team-members are Mirjam Neebe, Arjun Joshi, Mirco Giannini, and Philipp Bautz. Various interns and visiting scholars additionally are part of our team.
Prof. Dr. Hans Blokland
Hans Blokland is a Dutch social and political scientist and philosopher, currently living in Potsdam, Germany. He can be reached here: hans.blokland@socialscienceworks.org
Mirjam Neebe MA
Mirjam Neebe studied sociology and philosophy at the University of Potsdam and environmental management with a focus on political science at the Free University of Berlin.
Arjun Joshi MA
Arjun Joshi holds a Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is a UK Government funded Chevening Scholar.
Mirco Giannini
Mirco Giannini is Co-Founder of MayaCode, an AI-powered platform that supports social workers and public institutions by simplifying administrative processes and enabling multilingual communication.
Mia von Knobelsdorff BA
In 2025, Mia completed her Bachelor of Arts in English and Special Education at the Humboldt University in Berlin. She is currently pursuing her Master of Education in those subjects. Since January 2026 she has been working as a teacher in special education and English. August 2026 she started her job on our project Digital Language and Administrative Bridge for Refugees in Shelter Facilities.
Aida Massó Blasco MA
Aida Massó Blasco interns at SSW in the winter of 2025-6. She holds a double degree in Sociology and Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Valencia.
Philipp Bautz MA
Philipp Bautz is particularly interested in two topics. The first is the environment. That is why he researches how people live together with their environment.
Marina Rozalén Miralles BA
Marina Rozalén Miralles interns at SSW in the winter of 2025-6. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Valencia.
