Alessia Arbustini holds a Master’s in Gender Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), England, and a BA in Anthropology at the University of Bologna, Italy. She is currently pursuing her second MA in European Studies, Social and Cultural Policy Analysis at the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg.
She lives in Berlin, where she gained more than 3 years of experience working with refugees in accommodation facilities, with a focus on women, minors, queer community, and vulnerable individuals. Previously, she volunteered as a project assistant at Centro Donna Giustizia (women’s shelter) in a project addressed to survivors of human trafficking in Italy.

For Social Science Works, she wrote an article about Human Trafficking in Italy, worked as part of the Children’s projects, where she contributed to the making of empowerment workshops for FLINTA* teenage refugees in Potsdam. From October 2026, she will work on our new project, Digital Language and Administrative Bridge for Refugees in Shelter Facilities.
