Dr. Mirco Giannini

Mirco Giannini is Co-Founder of MayaCode, an AI-powered platform that supports social workers and public institutions by simplifying administrative processes and enabling multilingual communication. He is a physician by training and spent several years in the German Armed Forces in clinical and operational medical roles, where he gained experience working within complex public-sector structures and under high operational pressure.

He is currently completing a Master’s degree in Medical Informatics at Berlin University of Applied Sciences, with a focus on applied machine learning, data-driven decision support, and privacy-aware system design. Previously, he worked as a doctoral researcher at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, contributing to AI-supported telemedical systems and applied research at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and public service delivery.

His professional interest lies in working at the intersection of medicine, technology, and public institutions, with a focus on building robust, scalable systems that function reliably under real-world constraints. Drawing on his experience in clinical medicine, the armed forces, and applied research, he is particularly interested in how digital tools can support complex organizational processes, reduce operational friction, and improve decision-making in institutional settings. He is part of Social Science Works to help translate empirical research and field experience into deployable, sustainable digital systems for public-sector use.
